Crash shuts down major intersection in Oshawa

A collision on Wednesday afternoon prompted the closure of a major Oshawa intersection.

Update 3:30 p.m.: Area roads have been re-opened.

Update 2:30 p.m.: Police have confirmed three vehicles were involved in the crash, including a police cruiser. Furthermore, they said all injuries sustained are non-life-threatening. However, they did not specify how many people were hurt.

At 1:10 p.m., Durham police said they were at the scene of a crash at the intersection of Harmony Rd. N. and Taunton Rd. E in the city’s north end. The area is a busy commercial district home to numerous store and restaurants.

There’s no word on injuries at this time.

The intersection will be closed for an indeterminate amount of time as officers work to clear the scene.

“Please avoid the area and consider alternate routes,” said police.
