With a dream of capacity crowds returning to Canada’s home of motorsport this spring and summer, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park has unveiled its major event schedule for the 2022 season.

The legendary track formerly known as Mosport has hosted some of the world’s greatest races and drivers as it celebrates 61 years of racing this year.

The five major events are the Castrol Victoria Day SpeedFest (May 20-22); the VARAC Vintage Racing Festival (June 17-19); the SportsCar Grand Prix (July 1-3); the Superbike Doubleheader (August 12-14); and the CTMP Labour Day Sprints (September 2-4).

The May long-weekend tradition returns with the season-opening Castrol Victoria Day SpeedFest, featuring the door-to-door action of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series. The weekend will be a true celebration of Canadian auto-sport with the FEL SportsCar Championship Canada, Emzone Radical Cup Canada, Nissan Sentra Cup, and Super Production Challenge Series filling the event roster.

The VARAC Vintage Grand Prix will again take place on Father’s Day Weekend, the perfect time to visit the track with dad and the family. This weekend features beautiful vintage cars restored to their former glory on our legendary Grand Prix Circuit.

After a multi-year hiatus due to the pandemic, IMSA will make a return to Canada for the SportsCar Grand Prix. An international lineup of machines, teams, and drivers make this weekend a truly world-class event. The event will feature the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Michelin Pilot Challenge, and IMSA Prototype Challenge. But that’s not all: Masters F1 and Masters Endurance Legends will also join in on the action.

The season finale for the Canadian Superbike Championship rides into CTMP for the Superbike DoubleHeader Weekend in August. With national championships on the line, this weekend produces some of the closest and most exciting racing on the calendar, with motorcycles screaming up the Mario Andretti Straightaway at 300 km/h.

Returning to the Labour Day Weekend date, the CTMP Labour Day Sprints will once again feature an all-Canadian lineup of racing action with the NASCAR Pinty’s Series main event on Sunday. Joining them will be the FEL SportsCar Championship Canada, Emzone Radical Cup Canada, Nissan Sentra Cup, and Toyo Tires F1600 Championship.

Tickets for the 2022 season will go on sale soon. For more details and information on tickets, camping, and more, visit the CTMP website.
