Culture Days returns to downtown Oshawa October 5

Fresh off another successful celebration of music, art and pop culture at Saturday’s Convergence Music & Art Festival, the City of Oshawa is bringing its rich culture back to the forefront October 5 with the return of Culture Days.

A national event designed to foster public engagement with arts and culture, there are plenty of activities planned in Oshawa from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Art Resources Centre, adjacent to City Hall.

The day will be filled with free activities for the entire family, including an artist talk and a film screening that showcases the talents and cultural diversity of the community and the vibrant cultural life of Oshawa.

Activities on tap include:

  • Drop-in Art Activities suitable for all ages, led by the LivingRoom Community Art Studio, outside the Arts Resource Centre from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Artist Talk with Dani Crosby, McMillan Parkade, on the making of the ‘Turning the Wheel mural from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Film Screening of Robot Dreams (PG-13) presented by DRIFF from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Creative Writing Workshop (ages 16+) with local author Erica London from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (pre-registration required – visit oshawa.cato register, space is limited)
  • Pottery Workshop (ages 16+), led by the city’s instructor from noon to 3 p.m. (pre-registration required – visit oshawa.cato register for the waitlist)
