Culture Summit returns to Oshawa’s Arts Resource Centre

The Culture Summit is returning to Oshawa next week.

The event is an opportunity for members of the creative community to meet and learn about arts, cultural and heritage initiatives in Oshawa, ignite future collaborations and participate in hands on art activities. The City will also provide updates on the Culture Counts: Oshawa’s Arts, Culture and Heritage Plan.

The Culture Summit will be held Wednesday, October 26 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Arts Resource Centre, located at 45 Queen St. (adjacent to City Hall).

The event will kick off at 6 p.m. with refreshments and an opportunity to network while taking part in a Moccasin Indentifier Project installation. Performances and presentations happen from from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. followed by participatory activities from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Guests include emerging leaders and champions of Arts, Culture, and Heritage in Oshawa:

  • All Our Relations Métis Drum Circle;
  • Bernard Leroux, founding President of the Oshawa and Durham Métis Council and Faculty of Media Art and Design Durham College;
  • Bolu Adefemi, Singer and Songwriter, 2022 Culture Counts Emerging Artists Award recipient;
  • Margaret Rodgers, Artist, 2022 Culture Counts Professional Artist Award recipient.
