The Hamilton Oshawa Port Authority (HOPA) has once again been honoured at the IBJ Awards, the shipping world’s annual salute to excellence in the marine bulk industry.

HOPA Ports took top honours for Customer Care in the dry bulk sector at the annual gala, held this year in Antwerp, Belgium.

The IBJ Awards, now in its 41st year, is widely regarded as the maritime bulk industry’s ‘Night of the Year’ and a chance to honour exceptional achievements and innovations of world leading companies in various categories.

“We were honored to receive the Customer Care Award in the dry bulk sector at this year’s IBJ Awards, said HOPA Ports Corporate Affairs VP Larissa Fenn. “This recognition reflects our commitment to driving growth, understanding our customers’ needs, and continually striving to exceed expectations.”

Other Canadian winners this year included the Port of Sept-Isles (Quebec) for Best Specialist Dry Bulk; People Development Awards to Logitech, which is based in Montreal and has offices in Mississauga; and Belleville-based EMS Tech for Best Ship Loading/Unloading System.

HOPA Ports was named the world’s Best Dry Bulk Port at the event in 2023, held last year in London, England.
