Cyclists dead after suspected medical episode in Pickering

A cyclist was found dead in Pickering last weekend following a suspected medical episode.

The man crashed into the ditch near Fairport Road and Third Concession Road in the city’s rural northern reaches around 4 p.m. on July 21, police said.

By the time the man was found, he had no vital signs. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not publically identified him.

Investigators believe the man succumbed to a medical episode as there is no evidence of a crash.
