Deadline for submissions to Durham film festival just a week away

Calling all passionate filmmakers: the deadline to submissions to the Durham Region International Film Festival just two weeks away.

The eighth annual festival will run from October 24-26, with the deadline for submissions June 15.

Time is also running out for the festival’s 2024 Official Poster Design Contest, with those with graphic design skills, a passion for all things film, an interest in a $200 cash prize and the desire to let your creativity shine to design this year’s poster.

The poster should take inspiration from the art of filmmaking and the diversity and beauty of Durham. The deadline to submit your design is June 30, and you can submit by emailing [email protected]. For more information, pay an online visit poster contest

DRIFF also welcomes a new Director of Programming this year in Jessica Smith, an arts professional with more than twenty years of international film and events programming experience. She is currently wearing two hats as the Programming and Projects Producer for Toronto International Film Festival Lightbox and the DRIFF’s Director of Programming.

DRIFF has been dedicated to promoting arts, culture, and community from in Durham Region since 2017. Program offerings have included an annual film festival, monthly shorts programs, a high school film program and outdoor drive-in film screenings.
