Deadpool & Wolverine stars get invited to Oshawa wedding at Toronto promotional event

The stars of Deadpool & Wolverine got invited to an Oshawa wedding Tuesday while in Toronto to promote the movie, which opened in Canada yesterday.
Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy were at Bell Media Studios back parking lot on Queen Street West for a promotional event when Jackman reached into the front row and took a sign from a fan.
“I’m not going to Disneyland,” he told the crowd. “I’m going to Joanna’s wedding!”
Jackman then handed out invitations to co-star Ryan Reynolds and the movie’s director, Montreal’s Shawn Levy. “I got an invite, you got an invite, you all got an invite,” he told the enthusiastic crowd in attendance.
Reynolds got into the spirit as well. “We’re going to Oshawa. We did it!”
Joanna’s hope of a star-studded guest list for her upcoming nuptials was quickly dashed, however.
“Thank you so much for the invitation,” Jackman told Joanna, who was presumably in the crowd. “But I want to be completely clear. We’re not coming. We won’t be there.”
All was not lost for poor Joanna, who did get a shoutout from some Hollywood heavyweights and a promise from Jackman. “I’m going to send you a gift.”

Deadpool & Wolverine debuted in New York City Monday and in Canada and parts of Europe and Asia Tuesday. The worldwide release date is Friday.
