Dirt bike crash north of Bowmanville leaves 22-year-old fighting for his life

A young man is fighting for his life in a Toronto hospital after he lost control of his dirt bike in the CBM Burketon Pit north of Bowmanville.

Durham Police and emergency crews were called to the pit on Thanksgiving Day, just before noon, to find a 22-year-old Clarington man with life-threatening injuries.

The man was transported to the Toronto trauma centre where he remains in critical condition.

The Durham Police Collision Investigation Unit were on the scene, with the crash still under investigation. Anyone with new information about this incident is asked to contact Sgt. Ashfield at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2531 or 5262.
