The City of Oshawa is once again calling on Oshawa residents, local organizations and businesses to join in and lend a hand to make the neighbourhoods, parks, trails and greenspaces in the downtown core cleaner.

The spring Community Clean-Ups support the mandate of the Mayor’s Task Force on Community Safety, Security and Well-Being, including the Task Force’s focus on community action for community solutions and its phased approach beginning with the downtown core.

The next two downtown Oshawa clean-ups will be Saturday May 14 and Saturday June 4, both starting at 10 a.m.

“I encourage everyone to join us for one of our upcoming downtown clean-up events,” says Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter. “Let’s work together to keep our downtown and neighbourhoods clean and welcoming for all.”

Those wishing to participate are required to pre-register by e-mail at [email protected], or by calling (905) 438-3146. Learn more by visiting www.oshawa.ca/community-clean-up.

Participants will be provided with disposable gloves and garbage bags and are asked to meet at the City Hall North Parkette at 10 a.m. Free parking is available in the staff parking lot to the west of City Hall (at King and Queen Streets), as well as on city streets (as it’s a Saturday).

For groups who would like to organize a cleanup in their own neighbourhood, including parks, green spaces and trails, pre-register to receive your free garbage bags and gloves (while supplies last). For more information, including the registration form, visit www.oshawa.ca/community-clean-up or call 905-438-3146.
