Buckle up, car lovers – the third annual Drive Festival is set to roar into Clarington next weekend with the best in new car technology on display as well as test drive opportunities on three test tracks for car enthusiasts of all skill levels.

The automotive event, which runs September 8-10 at the historic Canadian Tire Motorsport Park north of Bowmanville, offers interactive exhibits with new manufacturer and electric automobiles and features Canada’s largest selection of exotic, classic and iconic cars driven at speed like the McLaren Elva, Ford GT, Jaguar XJ220, Ferrari F40 and more.

Drive Festival promises to be three days of automotive nirvana, with the Mobil 1 Dream Car Speed Run one of the marquee events, giving festival goers the opportunity to see the best collections of exotic, manufacturer and classic cars roar up the track all weekend.

The Speed Run provides attendees with a visceral experience to see, hear and watch many of the world’s greatest cars at speed on the two kilometre track. Every vehicle has a clean run and the safety of a closed racetrack as many of these vehicles are irreplaceable.

New features this year include the AVIVA EV Launch Pad, The Collection and Overland Park.

The AVIVA EV Launch Pad fuses the thrill of acceleration with the eco-conscious power of electric vehicles, while riding shotgun with seasoned professional drivers going zero-to-sixty in under four seconds. The Collection is an exhibit featuring exotic cars curated to celebrate engineering, design, and innovation. Overland Park is an adventure lover’s dream, featuring a 1.5 kilometre test drive off-road track (for those who prefer ditches and dunes to wide-open ovals), Kawasaki Side-by-Side Ride-Alongs, camping gear, adventure travel equipment, and more.

Test driving some of the newest vehicles on the market, including electric vehicles, is available to anyone with a driver’s licence. Sports cars, muscle cars and other high performance cars and motorcycles will also be offered.

There will be static displays throughout the grounds and there will be plenty of vendors and other attractions at the event as well, including a Family Fun Zone, with a kids test track with miniature exotic cars and racing simulators.
