Driver catches impaired charge after Uxbridge crash in July

Crash leads to suspension, impaired operation charge for novice driver from Brampton

A driver faces charges several months after losing control of his truck and crashing into the ditch.

Shortly before 5:30 p.m. on July 19, a white GMC Sierra pickup truck was driving down Uxbridge Concession Road 7 just south of Chalk Lake Road. The truck lost control on a bend in the road, entered the ditch then plowed into some trees.

Uxbridge Fire to extract the man from the truck. From there, an Ornge helicopter ambulance rushed him to a Toronto trauma centre.

In November, Durham Police charged Christopher Ransome, 47 of Keswick, with two impaired driving offences. He’s since been released with conditions.
