Driving more than double the posted speed limit made a Scugog driver really late for her destination.

Durham Regional Police Service say they nabbed a driver going 175 hr/hr on Simcoe Street in Scugog.

“This driver learned the hard way that driving 175 km/h in a posted 80 zone to get home quickly is a bad idea,” police tweeted on Aug. 15. “Luckily she didn’t have an accident before officers stopped her on Simcoe St.”

From the photo provided by police, the person appeared to be driving a black Kia — not typically known for speed.

“Wow, I didn’t know Kia’s could even go that fast,” one person noted on Twitter.

The driver received a 30-day licence suspension and 14-day car impoundment plus Highway Traffic Act charges, police said.

Looks like she won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
