A dozen school bus routes in Uxbridge, Brooklin and Port Perry have been cancelled today due to driver shortages.

Multiple school bus routes to Uxbridge Secondary and Port Perry High School; Quaker Village Public, Uxbridge Public and St. Joseph Catholic in Uxbridge; and Prince Albert Public, RH Cornish Public and Good Shepherd Catholic schools in Scugog are all cancelled Wednesday morning.

Many of the routes were also cancelled Tuesday.

All 12 routes affected use First Student Brooklin as the operator and a tweet from the Durham Catholic School Board declares that Durham Student Transportation Services, the organization responsible for school bus services in Durham Region (with the exception of Clarington) informed the board the cancellations are because of “driver shortages.”

First Student Brooklin has not yet returned calls for confirmation.
