Drugs, pistols and long guns seized in Ajax, Oshawa raids

Five people have been charged after raids in Ajax and Oshawa allegedly discovered numerous drugs and guns.

Durham Region and Peterborough Police Services conducted the raids at three homes on Mar. 5. The officers found a “large quantity” of unspecified drugs as as two pistols, a rifle and a shotgun.

They also arrested five on numerous charges including;

• Travendus Beals, 36 of Ajax, on five charges
• Dwayne Wright, 32 of Ajax, on ten charges
• Kadeem Jarrett, 32 of Oshawa, on 11 charges
• Kyleigh Kane, 23 of Oshawa, on seven charges, and
• a 17-year-old from Ajax on 11 charges

Charges mainly include gun possession, drug possession and breach of court orders. All five will remain in custody until a bail hearing. The Youth Criminal Justice Act protects the teenager’s identity.
