Durham Police investigate weekend stabbing in Oshawa that sent man to hospital

Durham Regional Police are investigating a weekend stabbing in Oshawa that sent a man to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, officers were called to an area near Simcoe Street South and John Street to reports of an armed individual on Sunday at around 12:45 a.m.

Upon arrival, a 31-year-old man was found suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to a Toronto-area trauma hospital for treatment.

Police said the suspect, who is described as being approximately 6’ tall, with a thin build and wearing dark clothing, fled the area.

The investigation is ongoing and police said they are awaiting surveillance footage from the area.
