Durham Region reports only five new COVID-19 cases, one remains in hospital in Ajax

New COVID-19 infection rates continue to fall throughout Durham as the Region announces five new cases, two from Ajax, one from Oshawa, one from and Scugog, and one without a known address.
Only one person of the 72 currently infected is in hospital. The rest are able to self-quarantine at home.
Three outbreaks continue in Durham long-term care and retirement homes. Fairview Lodge, Glenhill Terrace and White Cliffe Terrace share 16 cases between them and most are resolved.
Four schools and daycares, three in Ajax and one in Whitby are still officially in outbreaks. Two kids remain in isolation from Ajax’s Eagle Ridge Public School of the 15 who were infected in Durham schools. The other 13 have all recovered.
