Five local youths and three Durham Police officers braved 35 storeys to rappel ‘Over the Edge’ of the West Harbour Castle Hotel in Toronto Saturday to raise money for Cops and Kids CA, a group running programs for young people in five chapters across the GTA, including Durham Region.

The second annual event involved youth, with a minimum $500 in fundraising required to walk down a building from dizzying heights, and police officers from Durham, Toronto, Peel, Halton and Hamilton among others.

The rappelers and the rope volunteers were at the hotel Friday training for the Saturday controlled drop down the side of the downtown Toronto hotel.
