Early morning break-in at Bowmanville hardware store leads to charges

Durham Police arrived at the scene of a break-and-enter in Bowmanville early Wednesday morning in time to catch a man loading stolen items into a van with stolen plates.
The 43-year-old man, from Bright, Ontario (west of Kitchener), was arrested without incident.
Police say the man broke into the rear of Peavey Mart on Baseline Road just before 12:25 a.m. and was in the process of loading the stolen items into the van when East Division officers arrived.
It was later determined the licence plates on the van were stolen.
Timotei Ember is charged with break-and-enter, theft under $5,000, two counts of possession of stolen property (under $5,000), mischief (under $5,000) and possession of break-in instruments.
He was released on an Undertaking.
