Eight arrested in Ajax drug and gun bust including 14-year-old boy

A 14-year-old boy is among eight people arrested in a large drug bust in Ajax.

Following an investigation, Durham Police raided a home near Delaney Drive and Westney Road North in Ajax. The neighbourhood sits just north of Highway 2 and includes both detached homes and a large shopping plaza.

During the police raid, officers also searched several vehicles on the property. They arrested the eight suspects in the home and said they found:

• two loaded handguns, with an over-capacity magazine, an extended magazine and a fully automatic selector switch
• two kilograms of cocaine
• fentanyl, and
• hydromorphone

The adults were held for bail hearings and the 14-year-old was released.
