Woman dies following a vehicle collision in Pickering

A 71-year-old female is dead following a single motor vehicle collision that occurred in Pickering this morning (July 21).

The collision took place around 10:15 a.m. near Pickering Uxbridge Townline and Sideline 28, which left roads in the area to be closed for several hours.

According to Durham Regional Police, the vehicle travelled southbound on Sideline 28 when it veered off the roadway.

Emergency services were immediately called to the scene, and the female driver was rushed to the hospital.

Despite immediate intervention, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital, police say.
