Elderly woman struck by car in Whitby suffers life threatening injuries

An elderly woman is fighting for her life after she was struck by a car in Whitby this morning.
The woman, who is believed to be in her 80s, was struck around 9:30 this morning in the Glen Hill Drive and Dundas Street East area of Whitby. She suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision and was taken to a Toronto trauma centre for treatment.

Investigators say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. No charges have been filed.
Police closed Dundas Street from Thickson Road to Bowman Avenue for several hours to investigate. They have since finished and reopened the road way.
