Fall arrives in Clarington with Newcastle’s Harvest Festival

The colours of fall will be on full display in downtown Newcastle Saturday for the return of the annual Harvest Festival.
The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on King Avenue from Beaver Street to North Street, with crafters and makers, kids activities, tractor displays, musical performances and other family-friendly (and free) things to do
A pancake breakfast kicks off the festivities and there will be plenty of artesian vendors throughout the outdoor festival as well as inside the Newcastle Community Town Hall. Local produce (and the farmers who grow it) will also be available to purchase at the event.
Kids, especially, should have a blast, with activities from jumping castles, farm animal displays, pumpkin painting to creative balloon figures.
Some local roads will be closed during the event (from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.), including King Avenue West, from Baldwin Street to Beaver Street; Mill Street (50 metres north and south of King) and Church Street (50 metres south of King).
