False refunds given to Clarington man prompts fraud allegations

A Clarington man has been charged with fraud after allegedly receiving multiple false refunds.

Durham Regional Police allege a man went to several Home Depot locations across Durham Region between December and March.

He allegedly submitted order forms at the service desk and got refunds for items he never bought. Police arrested a suspect on March 19.

Ryan Stainton, 45 of Orono, has been charged with three counts of fraud under $5,000. He was later released with conditions.
