Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House is now open in Courtice, with the Kingston Road restaurant opening mid-April – one of five locations the Barrie-based chain has opened across the country in the past six weeks alone.

Stacked, which presents its unique spin on breakfast – think blueberry cheesecake or chocolate brownie caramel pancakes, omelettes from traditional western to spinach and pulled pork and mozzarella eggs benedict – to its customers from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day opened its sixth restaurant in Durham Region April 11.

What goes best with syrup? Practically everything at Stacked Pancake and Breakfast House restaurants.

The Courtice location joins a chain of more than 60 restaurants, including spots in Ajax and Whitby – which both opened in the pandemic in 2020  – two in Oshawa and one in Bowmanville, which opened in November 2021 with the same franchisee as Courtice.

Stacked has been a southern Ontario breakfast success story since 2014 when Manish Mehra purchased an existing breakfast spot in Innisfil and renamed it Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House. Locations in the Barrie area followed before franchising got underway.

Within a few short years, business started to boom and Mehra opened additional locations on Essa Road in Barrie and in Angus.

Franchising the Stacked brand then got underway and the company is now the fastest growing breakfast franchise in Canada.

All locations are open for breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Courtice restaurant is found at 1414 King St. E at Townline Road on the border with Oshawa.
