‘Fight’ call led Durham Police to shooting victim in Pickering

Police are still investigating after a teen was shot in Pickering Thursday afternoon.

There is very little new information being released at this time but police say they were dispatched to a ‘fight’ call near Liverpool Road and Linwood Street at approximately 4 p.m. Thursday

When officers from Durham’s West Division arrived they found a conscious 17-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he is being treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.

At this time there is no description available for the suspect or suspects; however, police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward or for anyone that has any cellphone or video footage to contact investigators.

The investigation is ongoing.
