Fight escalates into a stabbing in Oshawa

One man suffered serious injuries and another faces charges in a long weekend stabbing in Oshawa.
The incident started with an argument between two men in the Simcoe Street South and Mill Street area on Sunday around 1 a.m., Durham Regional Police said in a press release.
Police said officers responded to a call for an armed person in the area and found one man had been stabbed.
Officers began life-saving measures and he was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
At approximately 8:30 a.m., officers found a man in the Simcoe Street South and Albany Street area in Oshawa. He was taken into custody without incident.
Anthony Murray, 35, of no fixed address, is charged with aggravated assault, possess weapon dangerous to the public and fail to comply with a probation order.
