Flying glasses, Tyson-style ear bites mark wild Pickering pub fight

A wild fight in a Pickering pub that involved flying beer mugs and part of one man’s ear bitten off has both fighters facing charges.

Police were called to the New Knight’s Corner Pub and Grill on Kingston Road just before 2 a.m. closing Wednesday morning after reports about two men throwing glassware at each other inside the restaurant.

During the fight, police said, a portion of one of the fighter’s ears was bitten off.  Police arrived on scene and took both men into custody without incident.

Both were transported to a local-area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Nigel Worrell, a 49-year-old from Toronto is charged with assault causing bodily harm. Todd Downey, 44, from Pickering, is charged with aggravated assault.

Both were released on a promise to appear.
