Another day, another major announcement for Oshawa’s Northwood Business Park

Earlier this week it was a global dairy giant, and now it’s a restaurant services industry kingpin, with Martin Brower bringing their distribution headquarters to the city.

Panattoni Development Company is working with Stonemont Financial Group and BentallGreenOak to bring the 172,000 sq. ft. facility to the booming business park, as well as 175 new jobs.

The new staff will be part of a global leader in logistics and supply chain solutions for the food service business, with Martin Brower employing 12,000 people serving 26,000 restaurants in 18 countries, including 1,200 in in six facilities across Canada.

Martin Brower got its start in 1956 delivering to Ray Kroc’s first McDonalds restaurant in Des Plaines, Iowa and has grown into a billion-dollar global company that is still partnered with the fast food giant.

Northwood Business Park has been helping lead a new wave of job growth and attracting some major multinational employers of late to the 500-acre site, located near the Oshawa Executive Airport, two post-secondary institutions and close to major highways and rail lines.

“We are a community exceptionally positioned to create and secure well-paying jobs, offering major blue-chip companies a sustainable and competitive advantage in Canada and the Greater Toronto Area,” said Oshawa Councillor Tito-Dante Marimpietri, who serves as the Chair of the city’s Economic Development and Planning Services committee. “Our city offers direct access to one of the largest consumer markets in North America.”
