Food Truck Festival rolls back to Pickering’s Esplanade Park this weekend

Foodies take note: the place to be this weekend is Esplanade Park in downtown Pickering when the city transforms the park into food truck heaven, better known as the Pickering Food Truck Festival.

The festival will be jam-packed with a children’s village, a beer garden, eating challenges and live entertainment on the stage with good tunes. It’s family-friendly and best of all, free!

The festival will be open today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.., Saturday from Noon to 9 p.m. and Sunday from Noon to 8 p.m.

You can get tasty delights from some of the best food trucks in the country at the festival with two dozen food trucks on hand for the event.

  • 6 Spice Rack, Arirang Hot Dog, BeaverTails, Casalingo Burger, Choco Churros,
  • Cookies by Gia, Food From East, Gourmet Guyz, Happy Twist, Heavenly Dreams Ice Dream,
  • HK Food Station, Holy Shakes, La Fiesta, Meltdown Cheesery, Mustache Burger,
  • Ontario Corn Roasters, Philthy Philly’s Cheesesteaks, Rebozos Taqueria, Super Churros, Team Mate,
  • The Arepa Republic, The Kathi Roll Express, The Ultimate Food Truck and Tropic Love

Food options include vegetarian, vegan, halal and gluten-free with mouth-watering delicacies from around the world, from Mexico to Korea to right here at home.

In addition, local performers will be there to entertain all weekend. On Friday events start at 5 p.m. with Double the Pleasure with shoes from Eating Challenge, Crooked Zebras, Food Fighters tribute band Monkey Wrench and Haddix.

The best part? No admission fee.

The Esplanade North, and The Esplanade South, and a portion of the Pickering Civic Complex Parking Lot, will be temporarily closed for the food truck festival.
