Four wanted after elderly woman robbed of her purse in Ajax

Four men are wanted after an elderly woman was robbed of her purse in Ajax.

According to Durham Regional Police, the woman went to a local store on Oct. 4 and was targeted by four men. The quartet watched the woman pay for her goods and then followed her from the store as she approached her car.

Two of the men served as lookouts, police say, while a third stopped the woman to speak with her. He told her she had a nail in her tire and trapped her in conversation about it. Meanwhile, the fourth man crept into the passenger side of the car and grabbed the woman’s purse. All four men then ran from the area.

All four men are described as white. Two sported facial hair; one with a goatee, the other with stubble. The first man was wearing a black hat, blue dress shirt, white undershirt, and blue jeans. The goateed man wore a black baseball hat, a blue and white checkered shirt, and a black undershirt.

The third had dark sunglasses, a red shirt, and dark pants on. The man with stubble wore a black baseball hat, a white t-shirt, and white shorts.
