Free swim at Oshawa’s Camp Samac pool Monday

Oshawa residents can beat the heat Monday with a free swim at Camp Samac outdoor pool.

In celebration of McLaughlin Day, a day to honour the city’s most famous citizen, the pool will be open for two free public swims from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Admission is on a first come, first served basis and there is no need to register in advance.

The indoor pools at Delpark Homes Centre and South Oshawa Community Centre will also be open for residents and visitors to enjoy. Regular admission fees will apply.

Swimming at both Lakeview Park East and West beaches – declared safe this week by Durham Health – is always free and Oshawa’s ten neighbourhood splash pads will also be open to stay cool.
