Prepare to bundle up tonight as the temperatures drop.

A frost advisory is in effect in Durham Region’s northern townships as temperatures are expected to fall to near the freezing mark under clear skies tonight(Sept. 19).

According to Environment Canada, Uxbridge,  Beaverton and northern Durham Region can expect temperatures to remain low until Wednesday morning.

Environment Canada is asking residents in these frost-prone areas to cover up plants and take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.

Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
