A weather advisory in effect in Toronto and other cities in southern Ontario

It may still be officially summer for a couple more days, but Durham Region’s three northern townships will be under a frost warning tonight (Tuesday), according to Environment Canada.

Temperatures are expected to fall to near the freezing mark under clear skies tonight into Wednesday morning, which could be dangerous for fruit crops, vegetables and other plants.

Environment Canada is advising residents cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas, and to take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.
