Christopher Otoo of Clarington is wanted for assaulting two woman on the GO train

The suspect of two unprovoked assaults on the GO Train in Pickering has been arrested in Toronto.

The first attack occurred at the Pickering GO Station on Nov. 11. A woman was headed east from Toronto’s Union Station when she was attacked shortly after 7:30 p.m. Her assailant struck her multiple times in the face and slipped away.

The next attack was about two hours later. A second woman was heading through the station when she too was attacked. Durham Regional Police were called in to investigate both assaults. They came to believe the same man attacked both women.

They later identified Christopher Otoo, 31 of Clarington, as a suspect but were unable to arrest him right away. They instead issued an arrest warrant on charges of assault causing bodily harm, assault, theft under $5,000, and three counts of failure to comply with a release order.

On Nov. 18, Durham Police announced Toronto Police had arrested Otoo. They did not share the circumstances of this arrest or the associated charges, nor have their Toronto counterparts. They did note that he has been held until a bail hearing.

After Otoo answers to the charges he faces in Toronto, Durham Police will move forward with their warrant and arrest him again.
