Gun shots fired in Oshawa prompts police presence in the area

Durham Regional Police are currently on scene at the intersection of Kaiser Crescent and Colborne St. W. in Oshawa this evening (Aug.18), following reports of gunshots fired.

As of now, there are no victims with any physical injuries resulting from the incident.

Authorities have cordoned off the area as they work to gather evidence and conduct a thorough investigation.

Due to the ongoing investigation, specific details about the nature of the incident, potential suspects, and the circumstances leading up to the shots being fired are limited at this time.

However, eyewitnesses told InDurham.com that, three gunshots broke out, and report a man was grazed by the gunfire. Residents said that there was a heavy police presence and the area was placed on lockdown. These details have not been confirmed by the Durham Regional Police.

Police are asking residents and commuters to avoid the area.
