Handgun pointed at woman, cocaine found in Oshawa home

One person faces charges after a man allegedly threatened a woman with a handgun in Oshawa.
Police responded to reports of an armed person in the Olive Avenue and Keewatin Street South area on Sunday around 9:15 p.m., Durham Regional Police said.
A man allegedly made threats while pointing a handgun at a woman in her home, police said.
Police said the man fled the area before officers arrived.
The woman was not physically injured.
On Tuesday, police found a suspect and took him into custody without incident.
A search warrant of the residence the suspect was staying in turned up a “significant amount of cocaine” and a replica firearm, police said.
Police said this was an isolated incident.
Don-Neil Halstead, 28, of no fixed address faces several charges including assault, drug trafficking, uttering threats, possessing a firearm with no licence, pointing a firearm and careless shortage of a firearm, police said.
He was held for a bail hearing.
