Heavy rain

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for southern Durham Region tonight, with areas from Pickering to Clarington getting heavy rain this evening into Friday morning, with anywhere from 25 to 50 mm expected.

A low-pressure system is expected to give heavy rainfall in parts of southwestern Ontario and the Golden Horseshoe this evening through Friday, including Durham. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads and localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
