Horrific crash leaves 26 year-old Clarington man dead

A horrific crash on the Fourth Concession in Clarington has left a 26 year-old man dead.

The OPP are reporting that the driver, who is from Clarington, was travelling westbound on the Fourth Concession when his car collided with the Highway 115 concrete guard rail. Emergency personnel were on the scene quickly, but the man was pronounced dead in hospital.

Highway 115 north- and south-bound between the third and fifth concessions were closed for the investigation and police are asking drivers to avoid the area.

The Fourth Concession is near the midway point between Newcastle and Orono.
