Two drivers were injured – one seriously – after a horrific-looking four-vehicle collision in Clarington on Tuesday.

Durham Police responded to a multi-vehicle accident at Holt Road and Highway #2, just west of Bowmanville, at 3:50 yesterday afternoon. A 33-year-old Courtice man was reportedly driving a black Buick Encore westbound on Highway #2 when it collided with a blue Dodge Ram, a white Ford van and a silver Kia Sorento.

The driver of the Buick was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre for serious injuries and the driver of the Dodge Ram was treated at a local area hospital for non life-threatening injuries. The other drivers were reportedly uninjured.

Members of the Collision Investigation Unit were called and the roadway in the area was closed for several hours to collect evidence and conduct their investigation. The investigation is ongoing. Police would like to hear from any witnesses to this collision, who have not already spoken to police.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call East Division at 905-579-1520 (toll free 1-888-579-1520) ext. 1687.
