House strafed with bullets Sunday night in north Whitby

A home in Whitby was riddled with bullets Sunday night, with a man seen fleeing the area in a Mercedes SUV.

Durham Police responded to a call about gunshots at a house on Rivers Edge Place near Taunton Road at 10:35 p.m. and found several bullet holes on the home’s exterior.

The home was unoccupied at the time of the shooting and no injuries have been reported.

Police said a man wearing dark clothing was spotted leaving the area in a white Mercedes SUV but gone by the time officers arrived.
