Police are looking to identify a suspect after a woman was sexually assaulted in Uxbridge Sunday afternoon.
The woman was walking on the Ewen Trail, near Munro Crescent, at about 5:30 p.m. when she noticed a man she had passed was now following closely behind her. The man, described as white with tanned complexion, 30-40 years old with a stocky build, shoulder-length long shaggy brown hair and a shaggy beard, grabbed the victim and “touched her inappropriately.”
At the time the suspect was wearing a dark coloured baseball hat, dark teal shirt and jeans.
The woman was able to break free from the man, who was wearing a dark coloured baseball hat, dark teal shirt and jeans at the time of the assault, and escape to the nearby neighbourhood where she called police.
Investigators want to ensure there are no further victims and make an appeal for any witnesses to come forward. Anyone with new information is asked to contact the Special Victims Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5318.
