It’s not a full-size IKEA store – or even close – but the iconic Swedish furniture giant’s Oshawa Design Studio could be the next big thing.

The unique shopping format store, which has no product on display and is open by appointment only, will open September 1 at the Oshawa Centre.

If you’re looking for a new kitchen, bedroom decorations, a new bedroom set or any other IKEA furniture or furnishings, the Oshawa Design Studio allows you to work with an IKEA planner to design your specific look and having it shipped directly to you.

The one-on-one consultation service allows customers the opportunity to design, quote and order IKEA products, which will then be shipped to your home or to a pick-up location near you.

The studio is open by appointment, with limited walk-in assistance available, and appointments can be conducted virtually as well.

The studio will be open Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
