Investigations continue after man found dead following an aggravated assault in Oshawa

Police are urging witnesses to come forward with any information regarding an aggravated assault that happened on Saturday morning at an Oshawa residence which left one man dead.
On July 15 at approximately 5:40 a.m., police were called to a residential address near Bloor St. E and Wilson Rd. S for an unknown trouble call.
After arriving at the location, officers spoke with paramedics who were also called to the scene and located a 37-year-old man without vital signs. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say a man was taken into custody at the time of the incident for aggravated assault and the homicide unit was called in. The man has since been released unconditionally.
According to police, a thorough investigation began but the circumstances surrounding the death of the man have yet to be determined.
The homicide unit will continue to take over the case while the investigation takes place and police say a postmortem examination will be completed within the next few days.
Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to public safety.
