Knife fight in downtown Oshawa leads to stabbing; two men charged

A knife fight in downtown Oshawa Monday morning sent one man to hospital with minor injuries and resulted in both combatants being charged.

Durham Regional Police said two men got into a physical altercation near Simcoe Street and Bond Street just before 11 a.m., resulting in one man being stabbed. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to Oshawa Hospital. The second man was not injured.

Officers arrived on the scene and took both men into custody without incident.

Wisam Khalifa, 26, of Whitby, is charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing.

Skylar Collingham, 33 of no fixed address, is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and assault with a weapon. He was released on a promise to appear.
