Lane closures on Hwy 401 tonight for overnight Metrolinx work

There will be overnight lane closures on Highway 401 through Ajax tonight and Thursday night as crews mobilize to remove overhead cable across the roadway to support upcoming GO expansion projects.

Work was performed Monday at Brock Road in Pickering and Tuesday near Knapton Avenue in Ajax.

The crews will be at Salem Road in Ajax for the next two nights. The work will be done on both side of the highway with a five-man crew with five trucks to complete the job as quickly as possible.

Crews will be on site overnight between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and signage will be clearly visible to motorists for lane closures.

There are no anticipated transit impacts from the work.
