Updated: Large police precense at Oshawa home for investigation

Update 10:20 a.m: Police have one man in custody who they arrested without incident. Officers remain on scene as they work to clear the area.

The is a large police presence at an Oshawa home this morning.

Durham Regional Police announced the investigation shortly after 8 a.m. on Oct. 3. Officers have congregated at a home near Marland Ave. and Park Rd. The area just north of Hwy. 401 is largely commercial but is also home to several apartment buildings.

Police did not specify the nature of their investigation or what prompted such a large presence. They did say the incident is “contained” within an area home and there is no threat to public safety as a result.

Investigators said they will provide more information as it becomes available.
