A loaded and modified Glock handgun and a home full of drugs and cash has landed an Ajax man in hot water after an investigation by Durham Police’s Gun and Gang Unit.

Officers ended their investigation into a man believed to be in possession of a firearm and involved in drug trafficking Wednesday with the arrest of Wali Said Zada, 22, who was found near Salem Road and Kingston Road in Ajax and taken into custody without incident.

A search of the suspect discovered the loaded Glock with an overcapacity magazine in his waistband. The gun’s serial number had been scratched off.

Zada was also found in possession of numerous drugs.

A search warrant then executed at his nearby residence, where a large amount of cash and drugs were located and seized.

Zada is charged with numerous offences including five gun-related offences and four counts of trafficking in cocaine and other drugs.

He was held for a bail hearing.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Gun and Gang Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1801.
