Loaded gun seized during Oshawa traffic stop

A 27-year-old Oshawa man faces numerous charges after police seized a loaded gun during a traffic stop early Thursday morning.
Durham Police East Division officers were conducting a mobile Ride program at King St. E. and Townline Rd. N. yesterday at approximately 2:45 a.m. when they observed a white SUV westbound on King Street. Police stopped the vehicle and the driver was subsequently arrested after he failed a roadside screening.
A loaded firearm was located and seized during the investigation.
Mascud Asser faces several firearm and other related charges which include operation while impaired – exceed blood alcohol concentration; possess loaded restricted/prohibited firearm; occupy motor vehicle with firearm and possess restricted/prohibited firearm no licence or registration certificate.
He was held for a bail hearing.
