Cat lovers in Durham Region are in for a treat this month, as the Motor City Cat Show is coming to the Iroquois Park Sports Centre in Oshawa from July 27 to 28.
According to an official post from the organization, the show will feature the usual spectacle that comes with a pet show of this scope, including competitions surrounding purebred, domestic and rescued cats.
Initially, the Motor City Cat Club was founded in 1978 by five cat lovers to promote the breeding and showing of — specifically back then — purebred cats. Additional aspects of the club focused on public education surrounding feline counterparts and promoting the health of all cats in the Durham Region, all of which the Canadian Cat Association sanctions.
Beyond traditional cat show events, such as showing off each cat’s pedigree or grooming standards, this year’s Motor City Cat Show also features the ‘Purrolympic Games,’ a facility-wide contest for feline agility.
Apart from the splendor of feline fashion and sportsmanship, key community vendors who supply pet goods will also be featured at the event.
